FFIRN was created

"I started dreaming of living in Africa when I was 7 years old, reading missionary stories in a magazine. I really had no desire to be a missionary myself, to change the people there or convert them to anything, but seeing their beautiful smiles, I just knew I wanted to live where they lived one day."

We recently met with our funder (LUSH Cosmetics) to discuss PIRN. We agreed that PIRN is still developing and its final form is not yet clear. We identified eight possible future activities.

As part of PIRN we are developing a new online journal, Permaculture Research.  It will be an interdisciplinary, peer reviewed journal that publishes high quality research on all aspects of permaculture.

A new enthusiastic and proactive volunteer is required to support the coordination of the PIRN project within the Permaculture Association UK. Part time position.

Welsh Permaculture practice Sector39, who are celebrating 10 years of delivering permaculture design courses (PDCs) in venues across Wales and further afield as well as establishing themselves at their new home Dragons Co-op in Mid Wales, have successfully launched thier first full PDC in Uganda attracting farmers, teachers and community leaders from Uganda, Kenya and Burundi. 

The Phayao Permaculture Center is a 2 acre family farm, demonstration and education center in Pa Daeng, Phayao, Thailand, dedicated to the application of Permaculture Ethics & Principles.
